A Book of Seasons is a book that explains all of the seasons consisting of Winter, Summer, Autumn and Fall. In the book during each season it explains what happens during the season, what the weather is like during each different season, and what happens during each season such as the leaves falling during fall, and the snow landing on the ground during the winter. Another example is during winter you can slide down the snow mountains!

This is a great informational book for early learners such as second grade. I would read this to a second grade class and reread it at the start of each upcoming season as the seasons change and at recess I would acknowledge the plants, trees, leaves, and weather in general as the year goes on, so the students could really get an understanding on what the difference in the seasons are.

I Am Rosa Parks

I Am Rosa Parks is an informational children's book that basically tells the story from her point of view and who she was and what she is known for.

This book is great for teaching students about the history of the Constitution and how things have changed to be the way that they are today! I think it would be most beneficial to teach this class to a third grade class when the topic is just beginning to be taught. This book is a great way to help the students visualize how significant the segregation was between the whites and the colored individuals.

Galileo Man of Science

Title: Galileo Man of Science

This is the story of Galileo. The book consists of five chapters, being birth of a scientist, Galileo the teacher, through the telescope, Galileo's discoveries bring trouble, and a father of modern science. Just by reading the titles of the chapters of this book you can tell what sort of information it gives which is great. I think that students that look in s library for books to read would see this book and be interested by the cover if they are at all interested in science. I also believe that looking into the glossary and the index of the book will give a great idea of what is being told in the story.

The book talks about Galileo in great depth, which is amazing because he was such an incredible man. I love that the book discussed all of his accomplishments as well, such as the book called The Starry Messenger where he recorded his discovery of four of Jupiter;s largest moons through his telescope.

This book is great for kids who are learning about science and outer space and the stars and basically the atmosphere! I think this book could be taught in more than one lesson and in many different ways.

Honest Abe

This is an extremely informative book about Abraham Lincoln and how he was raised, who he was raised by, how he learned to read, who he had relations with, and everything else that you can think of! This book would be a perfect read aloud for a social studies or history classroom! The book has a great amount of character and color in the pictures throughout the book, also while having  very useful information. Reading books that look interesting can make students more intrigued about the topic, and I believe that is what this book will do for students. The illustrations in the book are creative and fun, therefore I think the pictures alone will catch a students eye and get them interested in reading this book and finding out information we truthfully all should know! History is IMPORTANT!

The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle

The story of the Tiny Seed begins with mentioning the season, Autumn. It goes on to explaining that the win is blowing flower seeds everywhere: up and down and side to side. One seed goes so high up that it burns from the sun, another goes so high up that it lands on a frozen ice mountain where it cannot be planted through the ice, another crosses the ocean and does not fly high enough to make it across, one of the seeds drifts off to the desert and cannot grow because of the dry heat, another seed gets eaten by a bird! Meanwhile, there are still seeds left flying around in the wind when the season changes to Winter. Another flower seed gets eaten by a mouse underneath the snow, the tiniest seed is still surviving because it is so small! Later it turns to spring and the weather starts to heat up and the snow begins to melt which results in the seeds being able to plant and begin to grow! There are ups and downs throughout the Spring, but the tiny seed begins to grow into a plant finally!! The seed was so tiny that the plant is tiny and growing much slower than the rest, which means that the tiny seed gets to stay alive longer. Finally, Summer comes along and the tiny seed that turned into a tiny plant is all by itself, it gets rained on and the sun shines on it every day which causes it to grow and grow! With time the tiny plant grows taller than houses and it is so spectacular that the flower brings in visitors to come see its true beauty! Autumn comes back around and with time, and the changes of weather all over again, the huge flower that started as the tiny seed begins to lose its petals and eventually the flower's seed pod opens up and releases new tiny seeds that begin to soar in the air as that flower did before it planted itself and bloomed! And the cycle starts all over again! 

This story is SO cute. I love this story especially for an elementary classroom because children love learning about the outdoors. I could create such fun activities based upon this book because of the season of the year. There are different weather patterns during each season of the year and it is always fun to teach kids about the fun things such as flowers being planted and blooming during the Summer. This is just an awesome book to do as a read aloud to teach the students the seasons, and then creating hands-on activities after the lesson. This book makes me so excited to begin my teaching journey!
